By liquid, we mean that investors can withdraw from their investments at any time of their liking without going through tremendous trouble. This is because the forex market is a global market.  This means searching for a buyer to purchase a particular currency which you want to sell is more often not a big problem.  There is always someone at the other end willing to take your offer. In contrast, bonds are generally very illiquid despite their relatively secure nature. More often, bondholders would have to wait till their bonds’ maturity date before they can withdraw their investments. This may be a problem in case an investor needs his money due to an emergency.

With it being controlled as an over-the-counter market, forex traders worldwide are conveniently brought into contact each day through the internet.
